Fast-forward to 2020 which put Debra and Izabela on an unexpected path due to Covid-related layoffs. However, because of their can-do attitudes, they chose to see this as an opportunity to start their own search firm where they could offer their signature collaborative approach to clients and candidates without any limitations. So as one door closed, another one opened to usher in Purple Squirrel Search Consultants Inc.

As an expert relationship-builder, Debra’s passion and ability to establish a rapport that is based on active listening, a deep understanding of the client’s needs and company culture, as well as positioning herself as a trusted adviser is what makes her stand out to clients at all levels of management across various industries. It is also precisely because of this that clients do not hesitate to entrust Debra with some of their most challenging hiring needs.
In her spare time, Debra loves relaxing with her cats, gardening, and being in nature, as well as volunteering at the Buddy Foundation- a safe haven for homeless and abandoned animals.
Izabela Bartoszuk
Co-Founder
Izabela has honed her recruiting skills at the agency and corporate level where she has used her resourcefulness and detailed searching ability to successfully fill Executive-level, Management, HR, IT, Sales, Pharmaceutical, Logistics, Project Management, and Customer Service roles. Izabela’s recruiting philosophy is that if the job description is clear and, more importantly, the client is transparent about what they are really looking for in the ideal candidate, that is all she needs to build a customized search strategy to uncover the best talent for the role.
When she isn’t recruiting, Izabela enjoys taking care of her dog and two cats, biking, doing Pilates, honing her trivia knowledge, learning languages, and traveling the world.
